This route takes you through a diverse landscape between Weert and Nederweert. You'll ride through the Houtsberg woods and along the edge of De Banen and Sarsven, fen areas with a rich history of peat extraction and a unique wetland flora that today forms part of the Natura 2000 network. Along the way you'll pass quiet woodland trails, open meadows and water features — a lovely mix of forest and wetland scenery packed into a relatively short distance.
Starting point and parking
Park your car and horse trailer at the Kwegt car park, Nederweert-Eind (6034 ST). From here, ride out via junction 41 and follow the junctions towards 43 and 44. At the end of the route, at junction 40, head back towards Kwegt to complete the loop. The full junction-based route can be downloaded via the horse riding route planner (see download button).
