Together with the Meuse, the Maasplassen form a unique cruising area in the Netherlands. The network of lakes and channels was created by gravel extraction and has developed into the largest interconnected water sports area in the country. The combination of open water, natural banks and good facilities makes the area attractive for both short trips and day trips.
